The almost no possible way to compost biodegradable waste on the 9th floor of a panel house in the middle of the housing estate led to the idea of collecting the waste for its further use.After a while, attention has been narrowed primarily to banana peel because it is one of the few fruit/vegetable peels that cannot be consumed.
Banana (including peels) is used as a natural plant fertilizer for its high level of potassium and magnesium. After the initial experiments with the banana peel and its transformation into a new material, the project has changed its shape. Knowing that banana peels can nourish plants supported the idea to create a flower pot from which plants can take necessary nutrients. The pot is 100% biodegradable and can be put into the soil together with the plant.
The name Bananality is a word game that indicates the simplicity of the whole project. Rather than problem-solving is this project an example of how to deal with limits and challenges which appear together with the effort to process a waste of any kind.
